Veterans Park is on one acre of land and elements include a water tunnel timeline that greets visitors as they enter the park from Main Street, a Plaza of Honor where flags and plaques honor all branches of military service, a gazebo, seating, and more. This year our Veterans Ceremony will be virtual. Trees in the Village of Rowlett Downtown

The Main Street Reconstruction project is wrapping up. Funded by the 2015 Bond Election, the street project repaved Main Street from the roundabout at Skyline Drive to the President George Bush Tollway (PGBT).
One of the features of the reconstruction project was to continue to add trees along the sidewalks of Main Street. The trees provide both shade and safety for pedestrians walking. Additionally, shade for the sidewalks and streets which reduces the temperature of the concrete, lessens the heat released overnight, thus making for cooler morning walks.

"Bankhead Brewery in downtown Rowlett is from chef Kevin Lefere and brewmaster Chad Moshier, who took over as head brewer in September. Moshier has been making beer for more than a decade and oversaw a brewery operation in California before relocating to Texas. Their selection is extensive with 16 of their own beers on tap, including a Belgian pale ale and a Vienna-style lager."

The Shoppes at Lakeview has commenced construction at the Southwest Corner of Lakeview Pkwy. and the President George Bush Turnpike. The site includes the former Dairy Queen that was demolished last week. Tenants include Panera Bread, Verizon, Jersey Mike's Subs, Pacific Dental, Citrus Nail Bar, and others yet to be named. Leon Capital Group is the developer and Venture Commercial is leasing the space.

Bankhead Brewing Co. in downtown Rowlett is finally open after months of anticipation. The brewpub opened last Monday, Aug. 29, but wasn't advertised because the owners, Ryan Pyle and Kevin Lefere, wanted to make sure everything was set and ready to take on the traffic of locals wanting fresh food and brews.
