Rowlett Veterinary Clinic has been serving Rowlett and its pets since 1977!
Rowlett Veterinary Clinic was opened by Dr. Curtis Jung and was one of the first veterinarians in Rowlett, Texas. In 2014, after 37 years in practice, Dr. Jung made the hard decision to retire and sold his practice to Legacy Veterinary Group. His practice lives on with their wonderful veterinarians, Dr. Dona Elton, Dr. Lindsey Sampson, Dr. Rachel Gelber, Dr. Henson, Dr. McLaughlin and Dr. Woodham that continue to love and care for his furry friends.
Rowlett Veterinary Clinic offers a full range of services for every stage of your pet's life. From nose to tail, kitten to old dog, they've got your pet covered. Their team is trained and ready to assist with vaccinations, microchipping and more.
Here is a description of some of the services at Rowlett Veterinary Clinic:
Examinations: At Rowlett Veterinary Clinic they recommend your pet receive yearly physical examinations. After the age of 7, when your pet is considered a senior, they should be seen at least twice a year to monitor for common diseases that occur with age. During a comprehensive examination, your pet's gait (Amble or Movement), eyes, ears, mouth, heart & lungs, lymph nodes, skin, abdomen, external genitalia, and nervous system are all checked.
Vaccinations: The frequency of immunizations will depend on a variety of factors: animal's age, vaccination history, environmental circumstances, and the duration of protection of the vaccine. An immunization schedule that is species-specific, location-specific, and consistent with your pet's lifestyle will be recommended by your veterinarian.
Diagnostic Testing: The Rowlett Veterinary Clinic's on-site laboratory is well-equipped with cutting-edge technologies for diagnostic testing. Tests and procedures at their laboratory include: Catalyst (blood chemistry analysis/electrolytes), Procyte (complete blood count), SNAP Feline Leukemia/FIV Test, SNAP Parvo Virus Test, SNAP Heartworm/Lymes/Ehrlichia, Fecal Flotation, Urinalysis, including sedimentation, Glucometer, Skin and ear cytology, Aspirate cytology of tumors, Skin scrapings (dermatology/allergies), Digital Radiographs, and Ultrasound.
Dentistry: Animals suffer the same kinds of dental problems as humans, including infection, severe pain, and fractured teeth. They recommend your pet's teeth be brushed daily and professionally cleaned every 8-12 months. A professional dental cleaning by Rowlett Veterinary Clinic removes plaque and tartar on the teeth and below the gum line preparing the teeth for home dental care.
Surgery: Rowlett Veterinary Clinic has a unique approach to surgery. Their compassionate, personalized, and high standard surgical care is designed to ensure your pet has the safest and most comfortable experience.
Microchipping: A microchip acts as a permanent identification method. All pets that are picked up by animal control are scanned to check for microchip identification. When a pet is scanned and a microchip is present, the scanner will show a unique number series that is registered to the owner of that pet.
