Ways to Support Small Businesses During Small Business Week

Apr 24, 2021

National Small Business Week is May 2-8 this year. Small Business Week celebrates small business owners around the country. Small businesses are vital to our community and create more new jobs and generate more local economic activity per square foot than big businesses.

We've come up with 5 Ways to Support Our Small Businesses During National Small Business Week!

1. Shop, Eat and Support Local: Go shopping at local boutiques, eat out at local cafes and restaurants, and support the local services in your community. Don't feel comfortable going out? Order online or order food for take-out or delivery.

2. Leave 5 Star Reviews: Go online and write positive reviews on Google, Facebook, and Yelp for your favorite businesses and places. 5 star reviews help businesses bring more customers in!

3. Spread Cheer: Send a nice message to a business through social, email or a handwritten letter. Small Businesses do a lot for our community - making them the special places they are! Just a quick note of thanks lets them know you appreciate them!

4. Promote on Social: Show businesses some love on social media. Recently made a purchase at a boutique or had a great meal at a restaurant? Take a picture, post it as a story or post on social and tag the business! If you tag a business on social, be sure and tag @villageofrowlettdowntown too, so we can see it and share it too!

5. Give Positive Feedback: Follow your local businesses on social and then like, comment on and share the content they post.

Let's give some love this week to the local and small businesses in the Village of Rowlett Downtown!
