The City of Rowlett is hosting its Annual Scarecrows on Main in Downtown Rowlett. Individuals, families, community groups, organizations, and businesses are invited to show off their artistic talents. To design and build a scarecrow, meet us at the Downtown Green (4001 Main Street) on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 3 to 7 pm to kick off this year's event. 

To reserve a spot on Main Street, complete the registration form at https://tinyurl.com/scarecrowsonmain and specify the location where you would like your scarecrow foundation to be placed. We will provide the hay, clothes, dowels, and a few tools to help you get your scarecrow Main Street ready.

Don't forget, there is a winner. Once you have registered, your scarecrow will be entered to win a prize for the following categories: Best In Show! Spookiest Scarecrow! Best Children's Scarecrow! and Most Creative Theme!

Important Dates to Remember!

• Scarecrow registration is open from Friday, September 22 to Wednesday, October 4, 2023, Register at https://tinyurl.com/scarecrowsonmain
• The Decoration Kick Off Party is on Friday, October 6 from 3 to 7 pm
• Scarecrows must be set up by Sunday, October 15, 2023
• Registration for the Decoration Kick Off Party, a one-day event, is open from, Friday, September 22 to Friday, October 6, 2023 
  

Registration is Free!

• Scarecrows must be family-friendly and maintained on a routine basis.
• Scarecrows may not be installed in the unavailable areas as shown on the 2023 Scarecrow on Main map (Click the link)
• Scarecrows and/or materials must not obstruct the sidewalk or be placed near the electronic city sign.
• Scarecrows installed on private property must obtain permission from the property owner.
• The City is not responsible for missing items or damage to scarecrows.
• Most importantly...have fun and be creative!

Voting Period!

• Monday, October 16 through Wednesday, November 1, 2023
• Winners will be announced by Saturday,November 4, 2023
• The deadline for the removal of all materials and scarecrows is Thursday, November 9, 2023
