The Story Behind Bruno's Name

Bruno's journey into his family's hearts started with a name. When he first arrived, there were many contenders and Bear and Corduroy were among the favorites. However, it was a suggestion from his aunts and grandma that led to his name. In a moment of panic, Bruno's owner called out the name "Bruno" as he darted into the backyard, and just like that, the name stuck. Meaning "brown" in German, Bruno's name perfectly complements his beautiful tri-chocolate coat. At home, he's affectionately known as "Brunolicious," a playful nod to his love for the song "Fergalicious" and his irresistibly cuddly nature.

Bruno's Favorite Activities and Treats

When it comes to playtime, Bruno is all about his chew bones, particularly Benebones. These durable toys are not only safe but also help maintain his dental health, making them a must-have in his household. Bruno's favorite game is tug of war, and though his owner could win every time, they let Bruno believe he's the champ. It's endearing to watch him triumphantly shake his head after a victory. Surprisingly, Bruno isn't a fan of peanut butter, a treat loved by many dogs. Instead, he has a soft spot for Kraft cheese, which he gets as an occasional indulgence.

Bruno's Bilingual Skills and Special Tricks

As a bilingual household, Bruno's owner has taught him commands in both Spanish and English. Bruno understands a variety of commands like "sit," "lay," "down," and even "wait" in both languages, along with their sign language counterparts. One of his most special skills is responding to the command "pressure," where he provides comforting cuddles, a form of pressure point therapy that's particularly soothing on tough days.

Bruno loves visiting Downtown Rowlett, especially Bankhead Brewery. The staff's warm welcome and the refreshing water bowls they provide make it a favorite spot for Bruno during brunch or happy hour with his owners. On his walks around Downtown, Bruno thrives on exploring the different scents and soaking up all the attention from fellow animal lovers in the community.

Rowlett's Home Depot is a hidden gem for dog lovers. Bruno delights in the friendly staff who offer him treats and the opportunity to sniff around the store, making it a true sensory adventure for him.

A Memorable Downtown Rowlett Experience

One of Bruno's most cherished memories is his first fall market in Downtown Rowlett. He had a great time mingling with other pets, meeting bunnies, and sampling treats from local vendors. Though not in Downtown, Bruno's all-time favorite event is Rowlett's Pooch Plunge, where he gets to showcase his swimming skills complete with adorable floaties that make him feel like a natural in the water.
